THE AUTHOR'S STORY
- Safari Thomas -
Safari Thomas, just like your every day 'human folk,' is a bit wild about animals, nature, and our incredible planet. Born in JRR Tolkien's ‘Middle-earth’, in the U.K., Safari found her calling to write after navigating the challenging terrain of a Law Degree (with Honours). Her passion lies in empowering kids to connect with the environment and fostering a sense of superhero-like agency in the realm of conservation.
Safari's mission is to sprinkle a bit of magic and adventure into the hearts of both young and old 'human folk.' Her stories aren't just tales—they're a gateway to building empathy for animals and landscapes, empowering V.I.P. kids to take charge of conservation and our planet.
In the midst of weaving tales that inspire little ones to be eco-heroes, Safari stumbled upon a merry band of lambs frolicking on the shores of Loch Ness in Scotland. And that's where the magic began – the Lamb Gang series, quite literally, leapt into existence!
THE ILLUSTRATOR'S MAGIC
- Clinton Banbury -
You have probably never heard of me; Illustrators can be an anonymous bunch. I have enjoyed a creative career as a designer, illustrator, and artist for over forty years now. Initially, I worked for publishers, including BBC magazines, Oxford University Press, Historic Royal Palaces, Harper Collins, and RSPB. I now produce work for my own business selling my original paintings and prints. Independent publishers occasionally approach me with their projects, and I am usually unconvinced as these days available time is a big issue. It was the author’s belief in the simple message that remains central to her book, matched with her enthusiasm for my work that got me interested and excited in creating the artwork for the ‘Lamb Gang’. Conservation, education, the environment and especially the impact we have as human beings on birds and animals are subjects that continue to interest me creatively. I hope you like the pictures. I certainly enjoyed drawing them.

ABOUT NESSIE
- the loch ness monster -
Nessie, the legendary creature of Loch Ness, was born in the deep waters of the Scottish Highlands. She grew up with a loving family of underwater creatures and shoreline animals. From a young age, Nessie admired the beauty of her home and learned from her parents to respect all living beings and take care of their environment.
As she grew, Nessie became a caring protector of Loch Ness. One day, she saw humans throwing litter into her beloved home. This made her curious and determined to stop pollution.
Nessie is intelligent, kind, and fiercely protective of her animal friends. She dreams of connecting with humans to help them understand the harm litter causes. Nessie wants to teach everyone, especially children, about keeping our planet clean.
Known for being elusive, many people try to catch a glimpse of Nessie, but she prefers to stay hidden from humans. However, she is not shy around the sheep she protects and cares for. With the help of the Lamb Gang, Nessie is on a mission to save Loch Ness and make it a cleaner place for all. She believes that by working together, humans and animals can protect the environment and create a better world.
